The Orchards and Farm shop at Quinagh are located very close to Carlow town.

Come out and enjoy a lovely walk through the nice ripe apples and pick the ones you want, then sit down and enjoy a freshly made apple tart or scone washed down a nice cup of coffee or tea in are new apple house tea room

The Orchards were planted by Alan and Susan Gilbert in 1991 with the idea of producing Irish apples. Since then, Irish Apples and Apple Juice has become very popular and so we developed our own unique blend of pure Irish Apple Juice - "Apple Barrel".

From this blend, and with further fermentation, Cider Vinegar is derived naturally, and is renowned for its health benefits. 

In recent years, Susan's talent for traditional artisan home cooking has produced several varieties of Farmhouse Jams, Marmalade and Chutneys. The Farm Shop will be stocked with homemade Irish brown bread, apple tarts and other delights.

Presently customors buy our products at Farmleigh House Country Market, Bloom in the Park, Castletown House Market and Carlow Farmers Market. We are members of the Irish Apple Growers Association, and we are delighted to receive advice and support from Cornelius Traas, The Apple Farm, Cahir, Co. Tipperary. and from staff of Teagasc, Kildalton College. Piltown
